OUR STORY

In 2019, Rebecca, our Founder and Executive Director, realized that there was a unique opportunity to address the Black maternal health disparities so she asked some of her friends to help her host 'It Takes a Village: A Community Baby Shower'. From there, Black Health Commission was conceptualized.

In 2020, Black Health Commission received its 501c3 status and focused on digital education since the COVID-19 pandemic forced all to stay indoors to decrease the number of cases around the world.

Today, Black Health Commission has build a strong online presence and is actively seeking funding to implement programs that will address the root causes of health disparities through volunteerism, collaboration with other organizations and activism.
